They’ve gnawed away moving the sand,<\/p>\n
building mounds where ever I am.<\/p>\n
Crawling around with purpose and intent.<\/p>\n
Their goals all differ but they concur each event.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Are they taking notes,<\/p>\n
honing their skills,<\/p>\n
or being big brothers,<\/p>\n
communicating the thrills.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Down the hole each of them go,<\/p>\n
grabbing a handful,<\/p>\n
they all need to know.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Over here over there,<\/p>\n
what are they saying,<\/p>\n
vibrating their hair.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Looking around,<\/p>\n
measuring up,<\/p>\n
Telling the little guy,<\/p>\n
your time to stand up.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There’s no chicken little,<\/p>\n
no mighty mouse,<\/p>\n
no ratatouille or even a house.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Its caves and caverns,<\/p>\n
civils and crops,<\/p>\n
They’re all polite yet non of them stops.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We can learn a lot,<\/p>\n
from these little beasts,<\/p>\n
while they mount the queen,<\/p>\n
for just a few weeks.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
They’re not grooming,<\/p>\n
they’re not dressed.<\/p>\n
They’re not playing the enemy of zest.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Do they love their life,<\/p>\n
do they not transform,<\/p>\n
fighting each and every bug that swarm.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Do they make a circuit,<\/p>\n
and join the dots,<\/p>\n
or are they exploiting earths weaknesses under their lots.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And turning the earth into a great art form,<\/p>\n
from all that sand,<\/p>\n
so the next can be born.<\/p>\n
